The Parish of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima is the second parish that was established in Valenzuela City. It was established on March 7, 1961. It is the home of the National Pilgrim image of Our Lady of Fatima, the image of the first EDSA People Power revolution and the Asian and National Center of the World Apostolate of Fatima (WAF).
The church is also part of the three major pilgrimage in the Philippines namely: National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Marilao, National Shrine of St. Anne in Hagonoy and the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. The church has been the center for a more sentimental, personal and closer relationship with the beloved Mother of Jesus Christ, Blessed Virgin Mary after her “said” appearance in Fatima, Portugal. During the Lenten season, paying off a visit to Mother Mary while her son, Jesus Christ, is crucified can be a way to soulfully spend the time of what we know as the “Holy Week.”
