One of the most common Lenten traditions done by Roman Catholics during the Holy Week is the Visita Iglesia or church visits. Visita Iglesia or church visits is a devotion where the faithful visits seven or fourteen churches and recites the Stations of the Cross. For the Catholics, it is a way of meditating or reflecting on Jesus Christ’s passion.

National Shrine of the Divine Mercy is located at Marilao, Bulacan where the church is devoted to the Divine Mercy in the Philippines. In February 1992, the first Eucharist where the Feast of presentation of our Lady took place at this church.
The church has a model of the Cavalry with life-sized statues of the station of the cross at the back. The picture of Our Lady is enthroned at the Guadalupe church located at the church’s basement. You can pray at the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes for good health. There is a little Poland Museum that the shrines offers, it features depictions of the house where Pope John Paul II lived, the Chapel where St. Faustina Kowalska had a vision of the Divine Mercy and the prison cell of St. Maximillian Kolbe where he was martyred.
